The Northeast Kingdom Rainbow Coalition has announced that Congresswoman Becca Balint will serve as the Grand Marshal of Newport’s inaugural Pride Parade on June 25, 2023.
This significant event represents an exciting moment for both the Coalition and the city. “We are honored to host the parade, and equally honored to welcome Congresswoman Balint to our beautiful lakefront community,” said former Mayor Beth Barnes.
Newport, known as a town where visitors arrive as strangers and leave as friends, plans to highlight its community spirit and hospitality on the day of the parade. Newport PrideFest 2023 will feature a parade down Main Street, followed by a festival in the park with food and craft vendors, family-friendly activities, and performances by local celebrities.
