Forage Fest Brings Downtown Newport to Life

Downtown Newport came alive Saturday, May 16, as Newport’s 3rd Annual Forage Fest turned the city center into a full-day community celebration.

Hosted by the North Country Chamber of Commerce and Newport Downtown Development, the event brought crowds downtown for a day of music, shopping, learning, family activities and seasonal fun.

Visitors enjoyed horse-drawn wagon rides, guided foraging walks, local artists, free workshops, community vendors and live demonstrations. The day also marked the opening of the Newport Farmers Market, adding even more energy to the downtown celebration.

This year’s event also introduced the first-ever Forage Fling, which kept the festivities going into the evening with dancing, music from Evansville Transit Authority and tacos from Sol Cafe.

We would like to thank everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, taught, demonstrated, vendored, sponsored and helped make the event possible.

Newport showed up in the best way possible.
