NCCC Students Triumph at 2024 Vermont Envirothon

May 21, 2024

North Country Career Center (NCCC) recently announced a remarkable achievement by its Animal & Environmental Systems Science FFA students. For the second consecutive year, NCCC has secured the championship at the 2024 Vermont Envirothon.

Guided by the expertise of Emily Dehoff, the Animal & Environmental Systems Science Instructor, both NCCC teams excelled, capturing 1st and 2nd place overall. The first-place team, notably the competition’s only all-female team, demonstrated outstanding knowledge and skills, particularly in the oral presentation on “Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future.”

In addition to their academic excellence, the teams received the prestigious Virginia Collins Team Spirit Award. This honor is given to the team that best exemplifies kindness, enthusiasm, proper conduct, and professionalism, traits that NCCC students proudly displayed.

Special appreciation goes to Ben Leskey from Green Mountain Farm to School for his invaluable guidance and support in preparing the students. The NCF-Envirothon, organized by the National Conservation Foundation, offers high school students an excellent platform to showcase their environmental knowledge and engage in important discussions on sustainability and conservation.

NCCC extends heartfelt congratulations to all the students and Emily Dehoff for their dedication and hard work. The school is immensely proud of your achievements and the positive example you set for your peers.
