Lake Memphremagog (pronounced mem-fra-may-gog) is the only lake in New England that is also shared with Canada. When you’re standing at the waterfront, you’re really standing on the edge of Vermont and the United States. Every season is celebrated at the Waterfront – sailing in the Summer and Ice Fishing in the Winter.
Bluffside Farm
The public is welcome to explore this 129-acre farm in Newport located on the shores of beautiful Lake Memphemagog. Please review access guidelines, respect signs, and wear blaze orange during hunting season! Bluffside Farm is on Lake Memphremagog in the City of Newport, near the Canadian border. It has farmland, woodland, a sandy beach, and is incredibly scenic with views across the 31-mile long lake. Bluffside Farm is owned by Vermont Land Trust.
BrynnSwim
Marathon and Winter Swimmer, recently moved to Newport from Stowe to live and swim on Lake Memphremagog. She has swum the 25-mile length of Lake Memphremagog twice. With her swim coaching business, BrynnSwim, she offers Swim Tech Clinics and Camps throughout the summer on Lake Memphremagog.
Kingdom Games
Kingdom Games offers over 50 days of running, biking, open water swimming, and winter swimming in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont from January through December. Challenging for the very best endurance athletes, with options accessible to all levels of ability and all ages.
Memphremagog Trails
Memphremagog Trails is a non profit corporation with a mission to create and promote top rate cross country ski and mountain bike trails. These beautiful trails are located off the Beebe Spur rail trail between Derby and Newport, VT.

Memphremagog Watershed Association
The Memphremagog watershed extends east to Brighton, south to Craftsbury, west to Lowell and north into Canada. In Vermont, this area includes over 20 lakes and ponds and four major rivers that feed into Lake Memphremagog, including the Clyde, Black, Barton, and Johns. MWA is dedicated to the preservation of the environment and natural beauty of the Memphremagog watershed and to ensure its protection for generations to come.

Northern Star

Pomerleau Park
Pomerleau Park, located on Main Street near the train crossing, is nested on the lake shore connecting the boardwalk and walking path in Newport. The small park features shade trees, a decorative fountain, miniature mock lighthouse and benches to rest and enjoy the scenery.
Prouty Beach and Campground
Prouty Beach is a 36 acre park with breathtaking views of Lake Memphremagog and Downtown Newport. The facility hosts over 75 campsites and amenities including tennis courts, playground, disc golf course, basketball court, shuffleboard and horseshoe pits.
