Where is the best place for outdoor yoga in Newport?

The waterfront is superb. The right vibes for a peaceful and energizing practice. Hard wood surfaces to practice on, the Gazebo for shade, the gentle sounds of the water, the warmth of the sun and the fresh breezes off the lake – all the elements mother nature has to offer for an Inspired Yoga practice.

Why did you move your business to Newport from Jay?

It’s all about the community – the community of small business owners that watch out and support each other, and the community of dedicated yoga practitioners, young and old who work hard to be healthy, strong and present in their lives. I love walking down the street and seeing my neighbors and friends knowing that we have each other’s backs.

Where is the best place for healthy meals?

We have so many choice for all palettes and nutrition needs. From Newport Natural with it’s changing menu of made-from-scratch hot dishes, soups and salads, vegan and gluten-free options to Ducit Thai with their veggie and vegan options that are low in sugars and refined ingredients. Newport offers food for every body.

What’s Newport’s best kept secret?

Our community and the trust we have in each other – we are a family. If I go to grab a cup of coffee and forget my wallet, it’s “no worries” from the owner, “come back later and pay” or just start a “house charge”. It’s a good feeling.

What business advise would you give a start-up coming to Newport?

It’s tough, but doable. The business community acts as a resource and support system. People are willing to share expertise and advice. We are a small network, which unlike in big cities, we know each other and root for each other’s successes. We want the best for each other and for Newport to thrive.
