We’re calling all storytellers to join us for the second Winter ‘Tipsy Talks’ Series in NEK, an event that promises to light up the long, dark winter nights with warmth, laughter, and shared stories.
What is Tipsy Talks?
Tipsy Talks is not just another storytelling event. It’s a unique series hosted in various local bars, restaurants, and other cozy spots across NEK. The idea is simple yet brilliant: gather people in the heart of winter for a few drinks and bites, and let them unwind as they listen to fascinating stories from their friends, neighbors, and even strangers.
Who Can Participate?
Anyone with a story to tell! Over the past year, we’ve heard a diverse range of topics – from 19th century mining and logging adventures to heartwarming tales of humanitarian work at the southern border, from the thrills of marathon swimming to the intriguing world of caving. We believe everyone has a story worth sharing, whether it’s a personal anecdote, a slice of history, a natural wonder, or even a deep dive into something seemingly mundane.
What’s the Vibe?
Think of it as a blend of the MOTH Story Hour, Ted Talks, and a (not-too) Drunk History session. It’s a platform where almost anything goes, barring politics and kinks. The focus is on personal storytelling, historical accounts, tales of love and loss, and anything else that can hold a room spellbound.
When and Where?
The series is scheduled to take place on Tuesday evenings, every other week from January through March. We have 2-3 slots available for each session, ensuring a variety of tales and experiences for our audience.
