Tiny Art

Get ready to discover the unexpected in downtown Newport! “Glimpses of Wonder – Tiny Art” is an exciting new public art initiative by Newport Downtown Development’s Tiny Art Committee, designed to sprinkle delightful, tiny artworks throughout our vibrant city center. Imagine strolling along Main Street and stumbling upon a miniature doorway in a historic wall, or driving over the bridge to Gardner Park and seeing a mural. These small-scale treasures, created by talented local artists, are set to transform our downtown into an interactive gallery, encouraging exploration, fostering community pride, and creating unique, shareable moments for everyone. Join us in celebrating the charm and creativity that make Newport so special!

Sculpture Project

A wave of creativity is set to beautify Newport as advanced art students unveil their highly anticipated sculptures across the town. This exciting project is the culmination of dedicated work by talented art students, bringing their visions to life in a tangible way for the community to enjoy. Each sculpture promises to add a unique aesthetic to its chosen location, transforming everyday spaces into impromptu art galleries. This initiative not only provides a platform for these budding artists to showcase their skills but also enriches the cultural landscape of Newport. It’s an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to engage with local art in accessible and unexpected places. This ambitious undertaking wouldn’t have been possible without the invaluable guidance and support of key individuals. Tremendous gratitude is extended to Amanda BauscherJohn Schweiker, and April Caspari for their exceptional leadership in bringing this inspiring project to fruition. Their dedication has empowered these young artists and provided Newport with a delightful new reason to explore its local businesses.

The Tiny Art projects could not be made possible without the sponsorship from NorthCountry Federal Credit Union.
