Nestled in the heart of Vermont’s beautiful Northeast Kingdom, Cub Scout Pack 828 is providing local children with valuable experiences in character building, outdoor adventure, and community involvement. This vibrant pack offers a welcoming environment for boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade, fostering a sense of camaraderie and personal growth.
Embracing the Vermont Spirit
Pack 828 takes full advantage of its location, incorporating the natural wonders of Vermont into its activities. Expect to see Scouts involved in:
- Outdoor Activities: Taking advantage of Newport’s resources, including sledding at Prouty Beach, skating at Gardner Park, and navigating an obstacle course on the bike path.
- Local Events: Participating in community events, such as chili fest hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. (They didn’t win this year but had lots of fun!)
- Service Projects: Giving back through activities like food drives, delivering handmade Christmas cards to Bel-Aire residents, and litter pick-ups along the bike path.
- Team Outings: Going on exciting trips to places like the fire station, library, Vermont Reindeer Farm, and Gray’s Sugarhouse.
