This anchor business on Newport’s Main Street has been owned by Lincoln for the last 46 years. Lincoln’s wife Jo joined him in the business 26 years ago, and she has been operating it and actively looking for a buyer who would continue to honor the businesses legacy since Lincoln died a year ago. Jo wonders whether Amber might actually have been sent by Lincoln in response to the pleas she has lifted up to him over the last year since his death.
Amber, who has Gemoligist and Diamond Diplomas through the Gemological Institute of America, brings great experience in the field to Newport. As the owner and Head Jeweler, Amber plans to continue to offer repairs in-house, and will add a custom-made bridal line soon. She has hopes to expand the business, and she definitely has energy.
For her part, Jo Brooks is thrilled. “Amber clearly has what it takes to make this business a success, and it was really important to me to leave behind a business that will continue to grow,” she said. She’s looking forward to moving to be closer to her family and knowing that she has left Newport Jewelers in good hands.
Next time you’re thinking of buying or repairing jewelry, drop in and introduce yourself to Amber.
