3rd Annual Community Celebration of Food, Art & Foraging

Join us in downtown Newport for the 3rd Annual ForageFest, a community celebration of food, art, and foraging. This FREE, family-friendly event brings together local organizations, farmers, artists, and educators for a full day of hands-on experiences and seasonal inspiration.

Pick up your map and collect stamps along the way for a special prize at the Chamber Welcome Center, 246 Causeway Road.


Daytime Events (9 AM – 2 PM)

All Day

Opening Day of the Newport Farmers Market, featuring flax and nettle processing demonstrations by the Old Stone House Museum.

Art Vending Machine, Crafts, and Children’s Activities at the Tasting Center, 150 Main St.

Pomerleau Park Children’s Activity Area.

Check out a real Army HumVee.

Free gift for young foragers at Judd’s Plants, 20 Elm St.

Morning Highlights

10:00 AM — Horse-drawn wagon rides begin (running until 2:30 PM, between Gardner Park and Downtown).

10:00 AM — Guided foraging walk at Prouty Beach / Bluffside Farm, 386 Prouty Beach Road.

11:00 – 11:30 AM — Special story time at Goodrich Memorial Library: Mason Goes Mushrooming.

Midday

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM — Live music at the Tasting Center, 150 Main St.

11:30 AM – 2:00 PM — Local artist demonstrations at the MAC Center for the Arts, 158 Main St, including tapestry weaving, painting, knitting, basket making, and needle felting.

12:00 PM & 2:00 PM — Additional guided foraging walks (Prouty Beach / Bluffside Farm).


NEW! Forage Fling (6 – 9 PM)

Continue the celebration in the evening at the Tasting Center with FREE live music by ETA, a lively dance atmosphere, and a special seasonal menu from Sol Café.
