Summer at the MAC Center for the Arts

Jul 24, 2023

The MAC Center for the Arts has been a hive of activity this summer, staging not one but two incredible garden-related exhibitions, both capturing the imaginations and enriching the cultural scene of our community.

The first of these, “Bees on Peas: And Other Observations in the Garden,” runs through September 9th. Using a variety of mediums, gallery artisans’ work will highlight all things garden-related such as water, fields, flowers, vegetables, trees, herbs, indoor gardens and/or houseplants, pollinators, patios, climate, the four seasons and more. The event is free and open to the public.

The tenth annual Art in Bloom event that kicked off on Friday, July 21. The inaugural evening was a ticketed reception, costing just $10, with the proceeds benefiting both the Four Seasons Garden Club and the MAC Center for the Arts.

Art in Bloom is a summer classic, showcasing over 20 floral arrangements inspired by the spectacular artwork in the MAC Gallery. It’s where the essence of nature meets the inspiration of art – creating a riotous festival of colors and an intoxicating dance of fragrances. What makes this year’s Art in Bloom extra special is the thematic alignment with the ‘Bees on Peas’ exhibition, providing an inspirational backdrop for the intricate floral arrangements.

To experience this extraordinary fusion of nature and art, you can visit the MAC Center for the Arts at 158 Main Street, Newport, VT.

The summer gallery operates from Monday to Saturday, 10-5. If you need further information, you can call MAC at 802.334.1966.
