Our Vision: Newport City Downtown Development’s vision is for Newport to serve as the economic, social, recreational and cultural center for northeastern Vermont, with a thriving downtown that reflects a unique sense of place.
Our Mission: Newport City Downtown Development (NCDD) is a non-profit organization working with partners and volunteers to revitalize, preserve and promote historic downtown Newport as a strong and resilient economic hub, a livable and walkable community, and a vibrant residential, social, recreational and cultural center for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Our Organization: There are four volunteer committees of NCDD that work together to help Newport realize it’s goal of being the center of a vibrant, four-season, outdoor recreational economy –
- Economic Development – working to make downtown Newport a welcoming place that attracts new businesses and nurtures the ones who have been here for a while.
- Marketing and Promotions – helping the businesses and non-profits in our downtown and waterfront plaza areas to work together to make Newport a great place for locals and visitors alike.
- Design – planning and implementing the projects that make our city beautiful, accessible, and inviting.
- Organization – working to assure that NCDD is a healthy, vibrant non-profit following the highest possible management and governance standards.
