2019 Wednesdays on the Waterfront Concert Series - Evansville Transit Authority
July 3, 2019 begins the third annual Wednesdays on the Waterfront (WOW) in Newport, Vermont. This free concert series, which hosts a different band each Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:45pm, will take place at The Waterfront Gazebo on the shores of Lake Memphremagog.
Wednesdays on the Waterfront is a music-based community venture spearheaded by Andrea Carbine and Veronique Rancourt. After a dinner party turned brainstorming session back in April 2017, Carbine and Rancourt have joined forces on a volunteer mission to bring more positive energy to Newport. With their combined history of event planning, love of music, and recognition for the need of renewed passion in and for Newport, Wednesdays on the Waterfront has come to life.
The Evansville Transit Authority, now in their fifteenth year as a band, have always been about respecting the music they play. The band's philosophy revolves around performing songs by artists that the band members and their audiences know and love, and then interpreting them in their own unique, organic way. Never restricted by the way a song was originally recorded, the band is free to experiment and explore the possibilities that the music offers, often melding songs and ideas together into cohesive sets of non-stop music.
