The Gateway Center is the beacon of Newport's crown jewel - our beloved waterfront. stroll the waterfront boardwalk and you'll finish at the Newport City Dock's Gateway Center - a handicap accessible facility available to rent for weddings, birthday parties and corporate functions. You can also rent paddle boats and kayaks in season. The Gateway has seating for 88 on the first floor and 70 on the second floor. A tradition of learning and imagining since 1868, The Goodrich Memorial Library envelopes you in its stunning woodwork, cozy fireplaced nooks and crannies, and the impressive staircase. You'll be drawn back in time with the grandeur and friendly access of books to peruse, computers to use and events happening for locals and out-of-town visitors as well. St. Mary's Star of the Sea |

Resting at the highest point of the peninsula of Newport, St. Mary Star of the Sea with its twin spires, gold crosses and statue of the Virgin Mary was formally dedicated August 1, 1909. Fr.
