The MAC Center for the Arts, in downtown Newport, is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Vermont Watercolor Society. “Images of Vermont” is a month long show being planned for September 7th through September 30th at the Center All works will be available for purchase. The opening reception will be held on Friday, September 7th from 4-7 PM with participating artists present. Refreshments. Free.
The Vermont Watercolor Society was founded by a small group of painters in 1995 and today we are well over 240 members strong. We are dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation of watercolor to our membership of all levels of ability and to the community by providing opportunities and venues for participation, education, fellowship, and exhibitions.
Participating artists include: Jean Lumbra, Sam Leary, Ruth Genco, Darlene Ratte, Norman Ratte, Pat Lipinski, Mary Brenner, Gingah Milnes, Helen Lang ,Georga Higley, Ann Lisner, Kay Maynard, and Donna Walsh. There will be a People’s Choice award presented. Coordinators for the show are Pat Lipinski and Ann Lisner, members of both groups.
The MAC Center for the Arts is a registered 501(c)3 and works with promoting other non-profits whose focus is in the arts. Memberships for artists and crafters are open to those who would like a showcase and sell their work and uses a juried process for acceptance into the Center.
