Richard Tetreault, Chairperson - Richard Tetreault, PE – Rich is a professional engineer who retired from the State of Vermont Agency of Transportation in December 2016. His 31 year career with the agency was a fulfilling experience in public service serving municipalities and fellow citizens across the state in various roles culminating with the duties of Deputy Secretary. He spent numerous years working in collaboration with sister state agencies on statewide programs and testified before committees at the legislature on budgets and policy issues. For the past two and a half years Rich has been Local Office Lead across VT, NH, & ME for the international consulting engineering firm of WSP USA, and his duties have him serving in a number of capacities on regional and national projects and policy forums. Born in Newport City, and a life long resident of Newport Town Rich and his wife Sue enjoy all the outdoor activities the Northeast Kingdom offers in all four seasons of the year. Rich also is Town Moderator in Newport.
Conrad Bellavance, Vice Chairperson - Conrad Bellavance, Chair-Newport City Downtown Development Board of Directors has served in various capacities since joining the Newport City Renaissance Corporation in 2012. A military veteran, he is currently the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager at Fred’s Energy in Derby. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from VT Technical College and began his career at Columbia Forest Products in 1986. In 1988 he was promoted to Division Project Engineer based in Newport serving veneer mills in VT, ME, PA, WI and Canada. He received the Vermont Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence in Pollution Prevention in 1993 for the Toxics Use and Hazardous Waste Reduction Plan that he authored. Conrad independently raised his daughter & son from infancy. From 2004-2006 he volunteered his knowledge and skills to assess the classroom needs, safety & security of the Newport Town School K-6 facility presenting conceptual plans to the community. He served on the Newport Town School Board for 10 years. Deeply rooted in Orleans County, born and raised in Hardwick, VT, he has lived in Newport Center since 1988. He has volunteered in his communities throughout his life, when and where he could. “Volunteering builds community. Volunteering to improve the quality of life in the City of Newport is personal to me. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting with friends and family, renovating my 130 year old farmhouse, or tending to my gardens.”.
Laura Dolgin, Secretary/Treasurer - Laura has worked as the City Manager of the City of Newport, Vermont since 2015. Before that she began working at the State of Vermont Judiciary in 2004, first as a Superior Court Clerk, and then as Deputy Director of Planning and Court Services. She did her undergrad at Lyndon State College and then returned to school to achieve her Master of Science in Organization and Management from Antioch New England Graduate School. When Laura is not working, she likes to bike ride, read, and eat cake.
Steve Wright, Board Member - Steve Wright is the President and General Manager at Jay Peak. Steve has been at Jay Peak since 2004 and has occupied the VP of Sales and Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer roles prior to being promoted to President and General Manager in 2016. Steve is presently on the boards of the North Country Career Center, Green Mountain Farm To School Program, Vermont Chamber of Commerce, NEK Collaborative, North Country Hospital, the Governor’s Travel and Recreation Council and the Vermont Ski Areas Association. Steve has lived in Newport for 16 years, is married and has two daughters.
Jennifer Daigle, Board Member - Jennifer Daigle is Vice President/Senior Credit Officer at Community National Bank. She has been with the Bank for 14 years analyzing commercial businesses throughout Vermont. She served on the Troy School board for 6 years, is a current board member and Past President of the Risk Management Association, volunteers time and organizes fundraising for the Department of Children and Families as well as being a foster parent. She offers bookkeeping services to some local non-profit organizations and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She was born in Newport and lived in Derby for 36 years, and now resides in Troy with her family. She supports community and understands the need for great working relationships.
Dan Pellerin, Board Member - Dan Pellerin grew up on a dairy farm in Barton and graduated from Lake Region Union High School. He attended Georgia State University in Atlanta as a chemistry major. He does business in the community. He serves as Vice President of Vermont's North Country Chamber of Commerce and is on the board of the Old Stone House Museum. He enjoys golfing when he gets a chance. He lives in Brownington with his fiancé Christine Deaton.
